Search for Carmarthenshire's Sports Personality

There are only a few weeks left to get nominations in for Carmarthenshire’s Sports Personality of the Year.
The closing date is November 25.
There has been considerable interest in getting county sporting champions and heroes recognised for their prowess and skills in the run up to the UK hosting the 2012 Olympics.
And Llanelli’s great sporting hero David Green has given a golden hue to the hunt for this year’s Carmarthenshire sporting heroes.
David is the current Carmarthenshire Sports Personality of the Year and will take come stopping clocking another victory in this respect having recently secured 400m hurdles Gold in the World Championships along the road to his ambition of becoming an Olympian golden wonder.
But there are 10 other categories recognising the achievements of all ages and physical ability and even an opportunity for past county sporting legends to enter the impressive Hall of Fame of county champions.
If you know a sporting talent with Carmarthenshire connections now is the time to get nominating for the awards.
The Council’s Sports Development Unit with Carmarthenshire Local Sports Council, is holding its annual Sports Personality Awards ceremony in January at Llanelli’s Stradey Park Hotel.
The categories are: Sports Personality of the year, young sportsman of the year; young sportswoman of the year; disabled sportsman of the year, disabled sportswoman of the year; sports coach of the year, sports volunteer of the year; young sports volunteer of the year, team of the year; young team of the year and The Ryan Jones memorial award for outstanding services to sport.
There is also a Hall of Fame recognising a longstanding and outstanding contribution to the county’s sporting excellence.
