European cash helps set up 20 new recycling sites in Carmarthenshire

A total of 20 new recycling sites have been provided across Carmarthenshire with the help of European funding. The council’s waste and recycling section provides more than 170 mini recycling centres all over the county for residents to recycle a range of materials including glass, cans, paper, clothes and shoes. The 20 new sites have been part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government. It is part of the £8million South West Wales Materials Efficiency project with Pembrokeshire County Council. Carmarthenshire recycling centres boost

The clocks have gone forward, the nights are getting lighter and Carmarthenshire’s Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) are open later. From Thursday, April 1, all five sites will be open from 9am to 7pm to make it as easy as possible for residents to recycle and dispose of their waste. The county’s HWRCs, which are located at: Trostre (Llanelli), Nantycaws (Carmarthen), Wernddu (Ammanford), Whitland and Llangadog, are open seven days a week. Trostre waste centre closed today

The Household Waste Recycling Centre in Trostre, Llanelli, will be closed on Wednesday for essential maintenance works. The centre will be closed for one day only and will reopen on Thursday. However, there may be further minimal disruption to services for a time on Thursday. CWM Environmental Ltd and Carmarthenshire County Council would like to apologise to the public for any inconvenience caused as a result.
