Outreach sessions being organised by Royal British Legion

The Royal British Legion is holding outreach sessions in Llanelli for service personnel and families every other Monday for the next two months. The sessions are to offer help to serving members of the armed forces, veterans, and family members. They will be held in the Hub in Stepney Street from 10am-1pm. Sessions will be held on April 10, April 24, May 8 and May 22. Website - http://www.britishlegion.org.uk

Carmarthenshire Council customer service centre to stay at The Hub

The Carmarthenshire Council customer service centre is to stay at The Hub bringing thousands more people into Llanelli town centre each month. The service had been temporarily relocated from Ty Elwyn whilst maintenance work was carried out. However, Council Leader Cllr Emlyn Dole said the move had been such a success in bringing people into the town centre that he had asked for it to be made permanent. The customer service centre deals with around 5,000 enquiries every month, on issues ranging from housing benefit and council tax claims to licensing and Blue Badges. Cllr Dole has also asked for the cash machine to be installed in The Hub which is estimated to be used around 2,000 times per month. The machine can be used to pay things like council tax or rent. New temporary home for customer service centre in Llanelli

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Llanelli customer service centre and cash desk will be temporarily relocated while essential maintenance work at Ty Elwyn gets underway. From Thursday, June 4, the customer service centre will relocate to The Hub , in the town centre, and the cash desk will be located at 4 Coleshill Terrace, next to the Registrars’ Office. The temporary arrangements will be in place for around three months. Many council services can be accessed online 24 hours a day at www.carmarthenshire.gov.wales , where people can get information, report problems, pay bills and request services. Find out about voting at The Hub in Llanelli

People can find out information on voting and polling stations at an event taking place in Llanelli at the end of this month. Carmarthenshire County Council’s Electoral Services Manager Amanda Bebb will be at The Hub  in Stepney Street all day on Monday, March 30. She can check if people are registered to vote in the next parliamentary election on May 7. If they are not, Amanda can register them. People can also apply to have a postal vote, discuss any support they may need, or ask any questions about their local polling station. Amanda said: “I hope people take the opportunity to come along, I am happy to discuss any queries regarding elections or the voting process. “We encourage everyone to use their vote, so we need to ensure as many people as possible are registered, and that they have all the information they need to make choices about their preferred method of voting.”
