Giant 'caterpillar' wiggles by Sandy Water Park in Llanelli
Even Sandy Water Park’s swans turned their heads when the giant caterpillar wiggled by. But there was no need to call out pest control teams. It was Llwynhendy Integrated Children’s Centre teaming up with leading charity Action for Children and The World of Eric Carle for a Giant Wiggle fundraiser to celebrate the UK’s most read children’s book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The sponsored event gathered together more than 30 under fives from Llwynhendy to wiggle along in giant caterpillar conga lines, encouraging them to help others and opening up their imaginations through storytelling and creative activities. Play Leader at Llwynhendy ICC, Ashley Lewis, said: “It was a lovely chance for the language and play parents and children to join the Flying Start Nursery in a sponsored walk in the community."
