The George Melly Sculpture Appeal will have a high profile at the Brecon Jazz Weekend later this month. Melly lived locally and was huge supporter of the jazz festival. The George Melly Sculpture Appeal is delighted to announce a series of events in Brecon on Friday 29th October culminating in a charity art auction at St Mary's Church in aid of the appeal. Highlights of October 29th include: 12 pm at St Mary's Church, High Street, Brecon, LD3 7AA The first unveiling of the artist's model by Diana Melly. Artist Bruce Williams has been selected to create a public art work to celebrate the life of George Melly. 2.30 pm at The George Hotel, George Street, Brecon, LD3 7LD A "Meet the Artist" session and audio visual presentation by Bruce Williams.
