Brass Bands from Ystradgynlais and Cwmtawe will be among the first competitors to take the stage when competitions begin in earnest at the Carmarthenshire National Eisteddfod's pink Pavilion tomorrow morning (Saturday). The Brass Bands Section 4 competition will be first up on the main stage. They will be competing for cash prizes and the Ivor Jarvis Cup. The marketing and tourism section of the local authority is compiling a listing of large events taking place around the county, such as Bonfire Night displays and Christmas lights switching on, in order to produce an Autumn/ Winter 2010/ 2011 "What's On" Guide which will be widely distributed. The information will also be placed on the "Discover Carmarthenshire" website (which links into the corporate County Council website), into Community News, which gets distributed to every household in the county, and released through various other types of media.
