Skip day at Talog has Royal flavour
Memorabilia from the Queen’s Jubilee in 1977 were among some of the items swapped by residents in Talog as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction. A ‘Bring and Take’ community skip day was organised by Tidy Towns, Keep Wales Tidy and the newly-established Keep Talog Tidy group. Residents were able to take along any unwanted household items that were in a good condition and swap it for another item that catches their eye. Not only is it a great way of saving money, but it’s good for the environment as it doesn’t get thrown away and end up in landfill. Some of the items exchanged included memorabilia relating to Prince Charles and Diana's royal wedding in 1981 and also the Queen's Jubilee in 1977 - as well as a petrol lawnmower! A skip was also made available for residents to dispose of household waste that couldn’t be reused and as much of that as possible was recycled.
