New manager for £2million centre at Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa

The prestigious Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa in Pembrokeshire has appointed a manager for its new £2 million state-of-the-art Spa. Kristal Wright, 26, arrives at the spa with an extensive CV which includes working at The Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, a Five Star Luxury hotel retreat based in Dogmersfield, Hampshire. “We are looking forward to welcoming Kristal to the hotel and spa next month,” said Phil Thomas, general manager at the Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa near Pembroke. “The Spa is taking shape in more ways than one. We can see the building developing and now we can see the staffing structure taking shape. “Kristal is qualified in a wide variety of spa and beauty treatments and therapies. Just like a phoenix rising from the ashes, a new £2 million state-of-the-art spa centre is taking shape at the prestigious Lamphey Court Hotel in Pembrokeshire. It was back in April, 2010, when the old spa at the hotel saw one of the most dramatic fires seen in Pembrokeshire for many years. Six fire engines and 45 firefighters from all over the county were called to tackle 15-metre-high flames bursting through the roof of the leisure facility. “It was a hugely dramatic fire which devastated the old spa centre,” said Phil Thomas, manager at the Lamphey Court Hotel near Pembroke. “At the time, it was only the hard work of the fire service that stopped the blaze spreading to the main building, which is, of course, one of the finest Georgian mansion houses in the county. Thankfully, no-one was injured in the blaze.” Mr Thomas said that since the blaze spa and leisure centre users had been accommodated in temporary facilities at the hotel. “We have, however, been working very hard to create...

An appeal has been launched this week for Pembrokeshire artists interested in displaying their works at the stunning Georgian parkland mansion. “We know there are some hugely talented artists in the community in Pembrokeshire and we want to help showcase their talent,” said the hotel’s manager, Phil Thomas. “As venues go, we have possibly one of the finest buildings in Pembrokeshire, with rooms which lend themselves to displaying quality art. “Our visitors are always interested in the finest things that Pembrokeshire has to offer and what could be better than adorning the historic walls with examples from the talented artists living and working in the county. “The idea is to display the works of local artists in the public areas. Tom Mansfield has started work as the new Head Chef at the prestigious Lamphey Court Hotel in Pembrokeshire. Tom, 31 and originally from Cardiff, brings a wealth of first class experience to the hotel. His dazzling CV includes establishments such as the 5 star St David’s Hotel, Cardiff Bay, the Newbridge Inn owned by TV and radio star Chris Evans and the 3 AA Rosette La Grousse D’ail Restaurant in Oxford. Tom was Head Chef at the renowned Bully’s Restaurant in Cardiff before taking over the same position at the exclusive Park House Members Club in the city. In 2008, he acted as Chef Consultant to Llanerch Vineyard, often working alongside celebrity chefs Martin Blunos and Hywel Jones. Tom has also spent time as head chef aboard the $80m super yacht M.V.Lady Ann, cooking for a range of celebrities and royals. Phil Thomas, 44, has arrived at Lamphey Court with an extensive CV working at leading hotels throughout the UK. “It’s a great privilege to arrive at Lamphey Court, a hotel which has the best architecture in Wales,” Mr Thomas said as he gazed up at the south-facing Ionic pillars at the Georgian mansion.
