An event to ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ is taking place at Parc y Scarlets later this month. The event, about tackling equality, diversity and respect in the classroom, is aimed at all schools in Carmarthenshire. Each school has been invited to send a representative along to the day taking place on Monday, March 28, from 9.30am to 4.30pm. A poster competition is also being held as part of the event, with separate categories for secondary, primary and special schools. Pupils are asked to design a poster which reflects the theme of showing racism the red card. Any schools attending the event can bring up to two poster entries which will be displayed on the day. They will be judged by Scarlet players and members of the Show Racism the Red Card charity. Scarlets themed prizes will be presented the winners. At a hearing at the FAW Headquarters in Cardiff, the charge against Llanelli AFC of failing to prevent its supporters of making Racist Abuse to a Port Talbot player at the home game on Tuesday 9th March was NOT proven. No further action will be taken. Llanelli AFC are delighted at the outcome and and can now concentrate on making plans for the European games in July. Llanelli AFC have been charged by The Football Association of Wales for the alleged racist abuse made by a supporter or supporters at the Welsh Premier League match with Port Talbot on Tuesday 9th March. The club have been charged under FAW Rule 24.2.13. The Charge states: “Llanelli AFC is charged for the alleged failure of its supporters to refrain from abusive, obscene or provocative behaviour, conduct or language whilst attending the Welsh Premier League match, Llanelli v Port Talbot on Tuesday 9th March” The club still appeals to any supporter who was present at the match and who witnessed the alleged abuse, to come forward and make a statement. Likewise, the club would like those supporters who were sitting in Block A of the main stand and who didn't hear any racist remarks, to also come forward and make a statement. Llanelli Reds hosted a SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD Event at the Stebonheath, Llanelli. The Event was hosted by former QPR, Fulham, West Ham and Bristol City player, Leroy Rosenior (pictured above), whose son Liam, now plays for Ipswich Town. The event was held in association with the FAW and was attended by local school children from Bryngwyn Comprehensive, Glan Y Mor in Burry Port and Swiss Valley. First Team squad players Jordan Follows and Gary Lloyd also attended the event along with Reds Commercial Manager, former Manchester City and Swansea City legend, Vic Gomersall and Reds General Manager, Nigel Richards.
