County Hall in Carmarthen made colourful splash for Diwrnod Shwmae Day
County Hall in Carmarthen made a colourful splash for Shwmae Su’mae this year. The night before Diwrnod Shwmae Day a colourful image of the Welsh language initiative was thrown across one of the towers of County Hall. It was organised by Carmarthen Town Council with the co-operation of the County Council. The image was created by Swci Delic (the designer Mared Lenny) from Carmarthen. Thousands of individuals, schools and societies of all kinds from across Carmarthenshire and the whole of Wales took part in Diwrnod Shwmae Day on Saturday when people were encouraged to greet each other with ‘Shwmae?’ to promote the Welsh language. Executive board member for the Welsh Language, Cllr Mair Stephens said: “Shwmae Su’mae Day was a great opportunity to promote the Welsh language and I’d like to congratulate people for taking part.
