Jobs and employment opportunities are on offer at two events coming up in Ammanford. A Feeding Britain’s Future Jobs Fair is taking place at Ammanford Jobcentre on Wednesday, October 1. The initiative is about engaging with employers in the food industry, and the Jobcentre has been working closely with Tesco in Ammanford. There is also a ‘Be your own Boss’ self employment day at Ammanford Jobcentre on Friday, October 3. Qualified people will be on hand to provide advice and guidance to budding entrepreneurs or anyone who may be considering starting their own business. The events are part of a county wide programme to help people get back into work. Latest figures show that unemployment continues to fall in Carmarthenshire making it one of the lowest claimant areas in Wales. There has been a decrease of 23% in the number of claimants over a period of 12 months, from 3,211 in June 2013 to 2,472 in June this year.
