Carmarthen gearing up for Uefa tournament | This is South Wales Carmarthen Town are gearing up to stage two games in the Women's Under-19 European Championships this summer. Wales hosts the competition that will pit the continent's top eight teams at that level against each other. Along with Wales, Denmark, England, France Sweden, Finland, Germany and Norway take part in the tournament which runs from August 19 to 31. Richmond Park will be the venue for Wales's game against England on August 22 (2pm) and Finland's clash with Norway (7pm).

Red back in training ready for European campaign

The Llanelli Reds have started training ahead of their UEFA Europa League exploits at the beginning of July. At their Saturday morning session at the Llandarcy Academy of Sport, Reds manager, Andy Legg, confirmed that Jason Bowen, Lloyd Grist, Lee Sunman, Chris Thomas, Ashley Evans and Chris Venables had all resigned for the forthcoming season. He also welcomed new additions to the squad in the shape of Luke Bowen, Geoff Kellaway, and Martin Rose and former Cardiff City Academy product Mamadou Diallu. Legg was also expecting Antonio Corbisiero, Ashley Morris, Ryan Batley, Martyn Giles, Craig Moses and Craig Williams to agree to terms this week. In addition, former keeper Craig Morris is also expected to return to the Welsh Premier League club. One omission to the squad is young goalkeeper, Craig Richards, who has joined Port Talbot Town. UEFA tournament boost for Carmarthen Town AFC

Carmarthen Town AFC will now be hosting three games at Richmond Park in the UEFA Women’s Under 19 Championship final tournament which will take place in Wales in August 2013. Following a site visit by UEFA representatives the Football Association of Wales have asked the club to host three matches in the group stages of the finals tournament on the 19th, 22nd and 25th of August 2013. The draw to decide the teams taking part in these matches will be held in April 2013, when the qualifying teams are decided. Kick off times will also be confirmed. Executive Chairman Gareth Jones was delighted with the news. “This is the first time ever that Wales have hosted a Finals Tournament and to be part of it is a great honour not only for Carmarthen Town Football Club but also for the whole town. Llanelli 2 Bala Town 1 - Reds into Europe again

Llanelli 2 - Bala Town 1 - Welsh Premier - Football - WalesOnline Rhys Griffiths’ 30th goal of the season sent Llanelli on their way to Europa League qualification with a play-off final victory over Bala Town at Stebonheath Park. Llanelli will now join Bangor City and Cefn Druids in the draw for the preliminary round of the competition, which takes place at Uefa headquarters in Switzerland on June 25.

Hasan Ahmet Sari scored the winner in Uefa Under-19 Championship match between Turkey (2) and Iceland (1) at Richmond Park, Carmarthen.

Reds wait on Europa League draw

Nearly all the teams who will be taking part in the 1st Qualifying Round of The UEFA Europa League in July have now been finalised. Only the losers from the Luxumbourg Cup Final and the Maltese Play Off winners have yet to be known and the line up will be complete! The Reds and Port Talbot Town will play one of the seeded teams. Bangor City will enter the competition in the 2nd Qualifying Round as Welsh Cup Winners. The Draw for both the 1st and 2nd Qualifying Rounds will take place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, near Geneva,Switzerland on Monday 21st June.
