Signs in Carmarthen celebrate investment in homes
Tenants of Carmarthen’s Belvedere Avenue have been amongst the first to see new signs erected illustrating the council’s £200million investment in homes and communities. A series of signs have been installed across the county on housing estates where the largest scale improvements have been made under the council's Carmarthenshire Homes Standard (CHS) programme. They feature the faces of local people who have had their homes and neighbourhoods improved. Cllr Tegwen Devichand, Executive Board Member for Housing , said: “We are very proud of the investment we have made in homes and communities, and wanted to celebrate that by installing signs in key locations around the county to show what we have achieved. “We’re coming close to completion of the programme in 2015, but our tenants have told us that the improvements have already made a big difference to their lives. “As well as improving the physical appearance of homes, we have insulated them and installed energy efficient boil...
