New governing bodies for Dinefwr schools
Two temporary governing bodies are to be established for the proposed new secondary schools in the Dinefwr area. A meeting of Carmarthenshire County Council’s Executive Board concluded with approval for the temporary governing bodies at the proposed new Ysgol Dyffryn Tywi and the proposed new Ysgol Cwm Gwendraeth. The authority is still waiting for Ministerial approval to re-organise secondary education in the area, which – if approved – would be implemented from September 1, 2012. In order to progress with the planning and preparation for the proposals, the council’s Executive Board Member for Education and Children’s Services, Cllr Gwynne Wooldridge, now has the authority to appoint individuals to the temporary governing bodies.
