Olympic weightlifter celebrates International Women’s Day at Aberystwyth University
Olympic weightlifter Natasha Perdue will be one of the speakers at Aberystwyth University on Friday 8th of March to mark International Women’s Day. Swansea born Natasha represented Wales at the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games and was a member of the British weightlifting team at London 2012. She will join local sports women to talk about their experiences, sporting lifestyles and inspiration at a Women Talk Sports event in the University’s Sport Centre at 6.30pm. The event forms part of a four day programme which runs from 6th to the 9th of March and has been co-ordinated by the University’s Psychology Department. Starting with a discussion about women in politics at the Department of International Politics on Wednesday 6th March, the programme features a celebration of Aberystwyth University Women at the Hugh Owen Library and a timeline trail around the Penglais campus, highlighting key moments for women in science.
