Family Fun Day at Kidwelly Museum

A family fun day is taking place at Kidwelly Museum this summer to launch a new book. Various attractions will be at the event including bouncy castle, craft fayre, refreshments, local choirs, bands and local stalls. The fun day, on June 18 between 11am and 3pm, will launch author Malcolm Symons' new book. Dr Symons wrote ‘Coal Mining in the Llanelli area’ in 1979, and the new book being published by Carmarthenshire County Council, will be volume two, which covers coal mining in the area from 1829 onwards. He will be at the fun day, organised by Carmarthenshire Libraries, signing copies of the book. Invitations are now being sent to local schools and organisations to ask them if they would like to be part of the occasion. Libraries and heritage executive board member Cllr Gwynne Wooldridge said: “The fun day will be a great opportunity to meet the author, visit the museum and enjoy family activities.”
