Table Top Sale for Carmarthen Mayor's Charity Appeals Committee

The Mayor of Carmarthen's Charity Appeals Committee is holding a 'Table Top Sale' on the 11 June between 10am and 2pm at St Peter's Civic Hall Carmarthen. There are a small number of tables available at £5 (plus a raffle prize donation). Come along and sell unwanted items or organise a table for a worthy cause. Carmarthen Mayor's charity distributes cheques to 15 organisations

The Mayor's Charity Appeals Committee is a committee of volunteers who organise a number of events throughout the year including raffles, coffee mornings, a vintage tea party and other events such as the Annual Mayor's Ball. The Committee's aim is to raise funds which are awarded annually to deserving causes in the town of Carmarthen. At St Peter’s Civic Hall Carmarthen, the Committee organised a ‘get-together’ for the organisations which were to receive donations from monies raised during the Mayoral year of Councillor Phil Grice. Both the current Mayor Councillor Doug Rose and Councillor Phil Grice were in attendance and distributed cheques on behalf of the Committee to the 15 local deserving causes, detailed below. Latest from the Carmarthen Mayor’s Charity Appeal Committee

At a well-attended meeting on April 8, the Mayor of Carmarthen Charity Appeal Committee discussed the forthcoming barbecue at the Mayor’s home to take place on the 11 May at 7pm. Also under discussion were arrangements for the Vintage Tea Party to be held at St Peter’s Civic Hall on June 8 at 3pm. Tickets for both events at £5 will be available from Committee members and from the Town Council at St Peter’s Civic Hall. The Treasurer asked Committee members to nominate local charities to receive donations from funds raised. A number of fundraising ideas were put forward and would be discussed at future meetings. The next meeting is to be held on May 7. All proceeds raised by the Appeal Committee are directed to local charities. Latest news from the Carmarthen Mayor's Charity Committee - At a well-attended meeting on the 26 February the Mayor of Carmarthen Charity Appeal Committee discussed a number of fundraising events to be held during 2013. Final arrangements for the annual Spring Coffee Morning which was to to be held on the 16 March at St Peter’s Civic Hall were discussed. Other events discussed were a barbecue (weather permitting) at the Mayor’s home in May, a Vintage Tea on the 8 June at St Peter’s Civic Hall and the annual Mayor’s Dinner/Dance in December. A fundraising event on the Gwili Railway was also proposed and would be discussed further at the next meeting in April. All proceeds raised by the Appeal Committee are directed to local charities.
