Meeting called on A48 road safety strategy
A meeting is being called with objectors to discuss road safety strategy on the A48 Pont Abraham to Cross Hands Road with Assembly Ministers and Carmarthenshire County Council representatives. The County Council’s Executive Board are looking to achieve the implementation of appropriate safety improvements on this stretch of trunk road and address the objectors concerns of the inconvenience of banning right turns and U-turns. They are inviting AM’s Rhodri Glyn Thomas and Helen Mary Jones to meet objectors with them before moving forward. The County Council has been asked and has started the process of making Traffic Orders to introduce the safety measures as they relate to roads which join the A48 between Pont Abraham and Cross Hands. To achieve the safety improvements on the road which is managed by the Trunk Roads Agency a number of Traffic Regulation Orders will have to be made which normally would be the preogative of the Assembly.
