Cardigan project reaps benefit of new building group

A sheltered housing project in Cardigan is reaping the rewards of a powerful new alliance of six construction companies in South West Wales. The Bro Teifi complex now has a new private garden thanks to the ‘working together’ group of construction companies. The improvement works were carried out under the direction of HM Building Services, of Narberth, as part of new pilot project in the construction industry. “Thanks to HM Building Services and the ‘working together’ group we have transformed what was a muddy and unusable piece of waste ground into an attractive area for our residents,” said Louize Davies, the warden at Bro Teifi. Firms join forces for eco boost aim | This is South Wales A Kidwelly construction company is part of an innovative new project looking to give a major boost to community projects and the environment. Dyfrig Dalziel Limited is helping to spread the gospel about sustainability across Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. To do so, it is are pooling its knowledge and resources with five other companies in the county including Pontyberem's Lloyd & Gravell, Morganstone Ltd and TAD Builders Ltd, both of Llanelli, along with Narberth's HM Building Services and Ammanford's T Richard Jones Ltd to help local communities as part of a new group called "Working Together".

A Llanelli school is the first ‘community project’ to feel the benefit of a powerful new alliance of six construction companies in South West Wales. St John Lloyd Catholic Comprehensive School in Havard Road, Llanelli, now has safer access routes for pupils and staff – all thanks to the ‘working together’ group of construction companies. The improvement works were carried out under the direction of TAD Builders, of Llanelli, as part of new pilot project in the construction industry. The works didn’t cost the school a penny as the group donated the time and materials needed to improve two key access routes into the school. “It’s all part of a new initiative where a group of six local construction companies pool our knowledge and resources to help our local communities,” said TAD Builders director Anthony Jones. Six building firms team-up for new project

Six construction companies in South West Wales have joined forces to set up an innovative new project which will help our environment and give a major boost to community projects. The firms are also helping to spread the gospel about sustainability issues in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. This innovative project is sponsored by the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) and supported by Construction Skills. “ Working together is a very ambitious and novel project bringing together six very well known names in the construction industry in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire,” said group spokesman Andrew McElwee.
