Investment in Dolaucothi gold mines will help visitors
The National Trust’s Dolaucothi Goldmines have been busy installing new interpretation panels, audio guides and video material to promote the historical significance of the site and encourage exploration of the estate. Site Manager, Steve Thomas said: “These developments will add to the visitor experience and add to the emotional impact by revealing the individual stories of miners. “The innovative use of conventional and digital technologies has enhanced the fascinating history of Dolaucothi Gold Mines and will make a visit to the mine even more interesting.” Dolaucothi received funding from RDP Sir Gâr’s Landscape and Heritage Grant for their improvement project. The Landscape and Heritage grant, delivered by Carmarthenshire County Council’s Tywi Centre, aims to support projects that promote the area’s cultural distinctiveness.
