Lady golfers dress up to mark centenary
The dress code was very different for the ladies at the Ashburnham Championship Links Golf Club in Pembrey. Ladies taking part in a special tournament to mark 100 years of women's golf at 'The Ash' arrived at the first tee in costumes from days gone by. Ladies captain Iris Jacob said: "It's just one of a number of ways we are marking the centenary of the formation of the ladies section at 'The Ash'. "The ladies section started in 1912, so we encouraged everyone playing in a special tournament to dress in 'period costume'. "Fair play, all the ladies made the effort and it made for a very colourful and entertaining event."
