Christmas Lights switch on will close Swiss Valley Road

Heol Nant, Swiss Valley, has to be closed temporarily from its junction with Heol Beili Glas for a total distance of 75 metres in an easterly direction for the Christmas lights switch-on in Swiss Valley, Llanelli. The closure is necessary to ensure public safety while the switch on takes place between 6.15pm to and 7.30pm on Thursday 26th November, 2015. The alternative route for west bound traffic will be to travel in a south-easterly direction along Heol Nant to its junction with Lon Yr Eglwys. At the junction, turn right and continue in a south-westerly direction along Lon Yr Eglwys to its junction with Tegfynydd. There, drivers should turn right and continue in a north-westerly direction along Tegfynydd to its junction with Llandyry. At the junction, turn right and continue in a north-easterly direction along Llandyry and Heol Beili Glas to return to a point west of the closure. Vice versa for east bound traffic.

First Group revise Llanelli bus services

From 20th February 2012, service 181 (Llanelli - Morfa - Swiss Valley) will be revised to serve Swiss Valley hourly and will run via Murray Street. Morfa buses will leave Llanelli every 30 minutes and an hourly Llanelli to Felinfoel journey is being introduced. Service 182 (Llanelli - Swiss Valley - Parc Trostre) will run 10 minutes earlier than at present. Revised timetables can be downloaded from the link below. Llanelli man fined for fly-tipping offence

A Llanelli man has been fined after his waste was found fly-tipped. Hilton Joe Morgan, aged 47, of Parc Morlais, Llangennech, pleaded guilty by post to an offence contrary to Section 34 of the Environment Protection Act 1990 at Ammanford Magistrates Court. The prosecution was brought by Carmarthenshire County Council. The court heard that on Sunday, June 20 last year the council’s environmental enforcement officers were on duty at Swiss Valley in Llanelli where they saw a large amount of waste that had been tipped in a gateway to a field. The waste included a child's bike, household furniture, wood, rubble, carpet, underlay, bags of broken tiles, dismantled kitchen units, worktop, television, bathroom suite and cardboard packaging. The officers found evidence among the waste relating to an address in Felinfoel.
