Carmarthenshire GCSE results higher than the national average
Pupils in Carmarthenshire sit firmly at the top of the class with GCSE results higher than the national average. Figures show that 70% of pupils achieved grades A* to C, an increase of 1.9% on last year and higher than the Welsh average of 66.3%. Some 7.3% gained A* compared to 5.3% nationally, with 21.4% of pupils awarded A* and A, compared to the Welsh average of 18.4%. A* - G grades demonstrate an increase of 0.4% with a resounding 99.4% of Carmarthenshire pupils successful at these levels.
