Police were called to a Llanelli town centre street after an allegation that a man was possibly carrying a knife. A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 8.30pm on Saturday February 15 by a youth who informed them that there was a man behaving in a drunk manner in Vaughan Street and possibly was in possession of a knife." The officers attended the scene and conducted a search on the man. However, although no knife was found on his person, the officers did discover a small amount of cannabis only. Three men have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a fire in Llanelli. Just before 4am yesterday (Sunday) morning, police and fire service crews were called to reports of a fire on the second floor of a building in Cowell Street. The occupants were evacuated and re housed for the night. Police this morning confirmed that three males have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, and remain in police custody. Fourteen arrested and charged following burglary at Llandrindod services | Dyfed Powys Police | Heddlu Dyfed Powys A total of 14 men have appeared before a court in Liverpool charged with conspiracy to burgle a service station in Llandrindod Wells. The service station at Crossgates was burgled on the night of the 15th November 2011 and a cash machine was attacked with power tools.

BBC News - British journalists working for Iranian TV arrested in Libya Two British journalists working for Iranian-owned Press TV have been arrested in Libya. Reporter Nicholas Davies and cameraman Gareth Montgomery-Johnson were detained by members of the Misrata Brigade on Tuesday and are being held in Tripoli. Mr Montgomery-Johnson's sister Melanie Gribble says she has no idea why her brother, from Carmarthen, was arrested and she is concerned for his welfare. The Foreign Office confirmed that two British nationals have been detained.

Police arrest 18 year old following fire at Asda in Llanelli | Dyfed Powys Police | Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police in Llanelli have arrested an 18-year-old local youth in connection with a fire which started in the Asda store Llanelli at 8.15pm on Wednesday 22nd February 2012. He is currently in police custody and due to be questioned. Inquiries into the incident are continuing and anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Llanelli police on 101. BBC News - Kavanagh attacks arrest of Sun journalists Police raids which led to the arrest of five Sun journalists have been attacked by the paper's associate editor. Trevor Kavanagh said the senior members of staff had been treated like "an organised gang" and the tabloid was "not a swamp that needed draining".

Nine people have been arrested by Dyfed Powys Police following a fraud conspiracy investigation in Powys. Officers have scrutinized over a 100 transactions in bank accounts linked with the suspects. The nine will return to Newtown police station on Friday 23rd December 2011 by which time police will have consulted with the Crown Prosecution Service regarding charges. Detective Inspector Diane Davies confirmed that Operation Seashell, moved into arrest phase on Thursday 15th December. She said, “This is a time of year where family finances can be pushed to the limit, it’s never a good time to be victim of a crime but the impact at this time is particularly hard hitting.”
