BBC News - Captain Scott explorer Edgar Evans remembered in Rhossili A member of Captain Scott's 1912 South Pole expedition is being remembered in the area where he grew up. Edgar Evans will be commemorated later on Friday at a service at St Mary's Church, Rhossili, on the Gower peninsula, 100 years after his death. Around 200 people are expected to attend, including his grandson, John Evans.
