The Delme Thomas Centre in the Llaneli  Scarlets Stadium will be the host of the Carmarthenshire County Funding Fair on Wednesday February 22. Representatives of over 50 funders, including RDP Sir Gar, Aggregates Levy, Children in Need, Lloyds TSB, WRU, will be on hand to discuss the various grants and support available in Carmarthenshire. Organisations within the Third Sector (charitable and voluntary) are being given a unique opportunity to get their voices heard about their current and future skills needs across the region. A survey, in the form of a questionnaire, has been jointly developed by the Regional Learning Partnership (RLP) and partners within the county’s five voluntary councils (CVC’s). This is part of a wider profiling exercise, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), through the RLP, which seeks to define the regional picture of the third sector and demonstrate its contribution to education, skills and regeneration. The CVC’s include Carmarthenshire Association of Voluntary Services, Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services, Swansea Council for Voluntary Service, Neath Port Talbot Council for Voluntary Service and Ceredigion Association of Voluntary Organisations. A Carmarthenshire Funding Fair is being held on Wednesday, 22nd February, 10.30 am to 3:30pm, at the Delme Thomas Centre, Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli. Following on from the success of the Regional Funding Fair in 2010, Carmarthenshire County Council in partnership with Carmarthenshire Association of Voluntary Services have announced the Carmarthenshire County Funding Fair event in 2012. The event will focus on helping to create vibrant communities and encouraging the move towards sustainability. The fair will enable community groups, local charities and voluntary organisations to understand both the funding available and the business expertise available, to help them develop their ideas. Don’t forget that this week is Equipment Amnesty week! People all over Carmarthenshire are being encouraged to look in their spare rooms, attics and sheds for unused equipment which has been previously loaned to them by health and social care services. Carmarthenshire’s Integrated Community Equipment Service has teamed up with Carmarthenshire Association of Voluntary Services (CAVS) to hold an amnesty in a bid to retrieve equipment including crutches, walking frames and wheelchairs. Throughout this week, designated drop-off points have been set up in the Llanelli area. They are at the Bigyn Communities First office in John Street, Llanelli; Communities First Llwynhendy in Pemberton Road; Felinfoel Communities First at the Community Resource Centre off Ynyswen Road; and Glanymor and Tyisha Communities First in Inkerman Street.
