New community project for the Gwendraeth
Menter Cwm Gwendraeth is appealing to individuals and local organisations who want help to develop local projects to get in touch with their newly-appointed Community Liaison Officer David Saywell. David will be working for the Cryfhau Cymunedau (Strengthening Communities) scheme which forms part of Carmarthenshire’s Innovative Communities Project. This is an integral part of the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007-2013. David said “You may be looking for volunteers or wanting to volunteer in places in rural Carmarthenshire to help strengthen and develop your local communities. I am keen to work with community and voluntary groups, charities, and Town and Community Councils and will aim to support and develop Community Mentors. These mentors will work in their own areas and look at ways to bring local communities together socially, culturally and economically.
