Special evening held to raise funds for special babies in Carmarthen
A Carmarthen family have raised more than £2,500 together with family and friends to say thank you to the unit that saved their daughter’s life. Nansi Alys Howells was born just over six weeks early at Glangwili Hospital in October 2013 by emergency cesarean and spent the first weeks of her life being cared for at the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU). Her parents, Nerys and Brian Howells of Carmarthen, wanted to give something back to the unit in return for the fantastic care the 10 and a half month old received from the doctors and nurses. In April 2014, Nerys and Brian arranged a Wine Tasting Evening in Bronwydd Cricket Club followed by a charity raffle and auction and raised £2,500.76 for SCBU.
