The next fund-raising lunch for Sports Aid Cymru Wales in Carmarthen will be held on Friday, April 26. The guest speaker with be celebrated author and broadcaster Roy Noble MBE. The lunch, organised by the West Wales committee of Sports Aid Wales, starts at 1pm. Tickets are £25. There will be a raffle and auction and other sporting speakers. David Butler, president of the West Wales committee of Sports Aid Wales, said demand for tickets would be high. A special presentation was made at the Sports Aid Wales lunch held at the Ivy Bush Hotel, Carmarthen, in memory of West Wales committee chairman Nigel Harrison-Rees. Mr Harrison-Rees died in office as chairman of the West Wales committee of Sports Aid Wales. Richard Gealy, secretary and vice-president of the West Wales committee of Sports Aid Wales, said: "Nigel worked tirelessly for Sports Aid for more than 25 years and was chairman for the last eight. "Nigel was a kind and generous gentleman, always concerned with the well-being of others. Sports Aid Wales would not be what it is today without his loyal commitment and enthusiasm." Mr Gealy said that in recognition of Nigel's work the Sports Aid committee had agreed to establish a new memorial award in his name.
