Your chance to Meet the Health Board – Llanelli and Burry Port

People in the Llanelli, Burry Port and Cardigan areas are being urged to attend the latest Meet the Health Board events to find out more about Your Health Your Future – Consulting Our Communities. The drop-in events are being held between 2pm and 7.30pm in Burry Port Memorial Hall on Tuesday October 2 and The Guildhall Cardigan on Thursday October 4. They have been organised by Hywel Dda Health Board so that members of the public can find out more about their proposals to improve health services in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. The aim is to provide the highest quality healthcare in the most appropriate setting, as close to home as possible, at the time it is needed and with improved outcomes for patients. Senior health board staff will be in attendance at the events in order to have one-to-one discussions with people. There will also be a number of stands with information on local healthcare services. “Remarkable achievement”: NHS Wales breaks-even

Hywel Dda Health Board | “Remarkable achievement”: NHS Wales breaks-even Health Minister Lesley Griffiths has congratulated Local Health Boards across Wales on meeting financial targets for 2011-12. The Minister thanked managers for what she called a “remarkable achievement” given the financial challenges facing NHS Wales. Provisional figures issued by the Welsh Government show all NHS organisations have met their financial targets in 2011-12, making a small surplus of £0.5million. The Health Minister said achieving financial balance had also been delivered against a pattern of general improvement and maintenance against key delivery priorities.
