Hywel Dda University Health Board has taken another step forward in the development of a new Integrated Resource Centre for Cardigan and its surrounding areas, bringing health and social care provision together onto one integrated site. The Draft Outline Business Case (OBC) was submitted to Welsh Government in July 2014 and the revised version was re-submitted in December 2014. Initial feedback has been received and the University Health Board is now responding to the Welsh Government’s request for further information. As a result, the project timeline has moved on a few weeks to allow for Welsh Government’s full consideration of the draft OBC and the additional information provided. It is anticipated that, subject to the necessary approvals, the University Health Board should be in a position to commence work on developing the Full Business Case stage of the project in May. The winners of Hywel Dda University Health Board's Best of Health staff awards have been announced at a ceremony at Parc y Scarlets. Held annually, the Best of Health awards recognise and reward the extraordinary achievements of Hywel Dda's staff and volunteers, many of whom often go beyond the call of duty in their work for the benefit of patients and service users. Hywel Dda University Health Board’s new Chief Executive got to know the organisation and its staff a little better as he took part in an Induction Day with fellow new starters on Monday 5 January. Steve Moore was recently appointed to the post following a career largely based within the NHS, much of it in rural areas. He experience includes an appointment as Chief Executive of the both Cornwall and Devon Primary Care Trust clusters, and Consulting Director for Health and Social Care Policy for ICF International. Hywel Dda University Health Board is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive Mr Steve Moore. Mr Moore has extensive experience in both the health and social care sectors and is currently Consulting Director for Health and Social Care Policy for a global multi-disciplinary consultancy firm ICF International. Prior to this, he was Chief Executive for NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust (PCT) and, following NHS reorganisation, was appointed Chief Executive of the both Cornwall and Devon PCT clusters which include NHS Plymouth, NHS Devon and Torbay Care Trust. More recently he was Director of the NHS England Area Team covering Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
