Top speaker lined-up for Aberystwyth University

Aberystwyth University’s Centre for European Studies is delighted to welcome Mr Bruce Pitcairn Jackson, the founder and President of the Project on Transitional Democracies, to deliver a public lecture at 4pm on Wednesday 30th November 2011 in the Main Hall, International Politics Building. The address entitled “A Pursuit of a Europe, Whole and Free” will consider how Europe has changed since 1989, largely because of the ideas of playwrights, electricians, and political activists. He will posit the questions who were these people? What were their ideas? And how could they possibly have organized the transformation of post Cold War Europe? Bruce Pitcairn Jackson’s served in the United States Army as a Military Intelligence Officer. From 1986 to 1990, he served in the Office of the Secretary of Defence in a variety of policy positions pertaining to nuclear forces and arms control.
