Funeral service details for Monro Walters, The Voice of Parc y Scarlets, Stradey Park and Stebonheath
The funeral of the man who was recognised as ‘The Voice’ of Parc y Scarlets, Stradey Park and Stebonheath will be held on Friday (April 17). Tributes to Monro Walters have been pouring in since his sudden death on Saturday, March 28. “His family have been very moved by the loving tributes that have been paid to Monro,” said his friend Robert Lloyd. “They would like to express their gratitude to everyone. The tributes to Monro have given them strength to get through this very difficult period.” Mr Walters was 69. He lived in Pwll. He is survived by his wife Maxine and children Gethin, Rhys and Rhiannon. The funeral on Friday April 17, takes the form of a public service at Greenfield Chapel, 11am, followed by private burial at Holy Trinity Church, Pwll at 12.30pm. “We are expecting a large crowd of mourners at the funeral as we say our farewells to Monro, a man universally acknowledged in Llanelli as a gentleman and all-round ‘good guy’,” said Mr Lloyd.
