The special guest speaker will be Catryn Grundy, Programme Director for the School of Hard Knocks Cymru. Howard Kendall the guest speaker at Carmarthen Town AFC dinner

Howard Kendall, the greatest manager in history of Everton football club, was the guest speaker at Carmarthen Town AFC's annual sportsman's dinner held at the Ivy Bush Royal Hotel, Carmarthen. Kendall, 67, had a distinguished playing career as a footballer, captaining the England Youth side to victory in the 1964 Little World Cup Final and playing for Preston North End, Everton, Birmingham City, Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers. His managerial career took him to Blackburn Rovers, Everton, Athletic Bilboa, Manchester City, Xanthi, Notts County, Sheffield United and Ethnikos Piraeus. The football legend gave an entertaining 40-minute address followed by a question and answer session. Principal guests included the chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council Councillor Terry Davies, the Mayor of Carmarthen Town Councillor Arwel Lloyd, Carmarthen East and Dinefwr MP Jonathan Edwards and club sponsor Einsley Harries. Last few tickets left for Joey Jones dinner

The guest speaker at the Spring Dinner meeting of the Five Roads Sporting Association will be former Welsh international football full-back Joey Jones. And there are still a few tickets left for the event - if you are quick. Joey started and ended his distinguished career at Wrexham and in between played for Liverpool, Chelsea and Huddersfield, gaining 72 caps along the way. Supporting Joey will be top Northern comedian Paul Boardman. Paul is a regular on the 'Jongleurs' comedy circuit and has made numerous television appearances. Paul is also a former professional footballer, having once been signed by Peter Shilton for Plymouth Argyle. Costs for the dinner have been maintained again at members £20 and guests £30. Just back from a pleasant lunch as the guest speaker at Carmarthen Rotary Club's meeting at the Ivy Bush Royal Hotel, Carmarthen.
