Volunteering for Health receives national recognition
Hywel Dda Health Board has recently achieved the Investing in Volunteers quality standard, in recognition of the excellent work carried out with volunteers through the Volunteering for Health project. Investing in Volunteers is the UK quality standard for organisations involving volunteers. It aims to improve the quality of volunteering experience for volunteers and to encourage organisations to better recognise the enormous contribution made by volunteers. Investing in Volunteers is managed in Wales by Wales Council for Voluntary Action. Volunteering for Health, which was established through Big Lottery funding, has been running for two and half years and during this time 220 volunteers have helped patients across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
