You Tube video helps Myrddin Special Unit classroom appeal in Carmarthen
Children at Myrddin Special Unit in Carmarthen are appealing in person for support to win an £80,000 classroom. The Unit has made a short web clip featured on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4M2akXzFGY asking for people to vote for them in a national competition. The Special Needs and Autism Unit was selected from almost 400 schools that entered the competition run by education magazine Times Educational Supplement (TES). It is now battling it out against five other shortlisted schools in a public vote to win the Clearspace Education classroom. The competition was open to all primary and secondary schools in the UK. The panel of five judges was impressed with Myrddin’s plan to create an Assistive Technology Centre which would provide life-changing technology for their students with severe learning difficulties.
