New opening hours at Cwmcerrig Farmshop and Grill in Gorslas

Opening times are being extended at the award-winning Cwmcerrig Farmshop and Grill in Gorslas in response to customer demand. "We've had requests galore to extend our opening hours," said Cwmcerrig partner Roland Watkins. "Everyone leads such busy lives nowadays and many people who are working in the day struggle to get here in time. "In response to that, we are extending our opening times from Monday, April 28. "On most nights, we will now be open until 7pm, which should suit customers old and new." The new opening hours are - Shop: Mon 8am to 5pm; Tues-Sat 8am to 7pm; Sunday and Bank Hols 10am to 5pm. New season lambs arrive at Cwmcerrig Farmshop

The first new season lambs have been born at Cwmcerrig in Gorslas, Carmarthenshire. The popular farmshop breeds more than 400 lambs each spring, some commercial and some members of the award-winning Texel breed. "It's a very busy time for us here at Cwmcerrig," said partner Roland Watkins. "We take a great pride in our sheep and lambs and there are many sleepless nights in store over the next few weeks as the lambing season continues. "Weather permitting, some of our new-born lambs will be out frolicking in the fields around Cwmcerrig in the next fortnight. Welsh First Minister drops in at Cwmcerrig Farmshop and Grill in Gorslas

The Welsh Government's First Minister, Carwyn Jones, has praised the quality of the Welsh food and drink sector and encouraged people to buy local during a visit to an award-winning farm shop in Gorslas, Carmarthenshire. The First Minister took a tour of the family-run Cwmcerrig Farm Shop and Grill and sampled some of the first-rate Welsh produce on offer. The shop sells beef, lamb and poultry which it rears to high animal welfare standards on Cwmcerrig farm, as well as a wide range of other locally sourced products. More than 600 products from the Carmarthenshire area are on offer, with a total of 1000 products for the whole of Wales. There are new opening hours at Cwmcerrig Farmshop and Grill near Gorslas in Carmarthenshire. From Tuesday to Saturday, Cwmcerrig will be open until 9pm. Last food orders in the carvery will be 8pm. Cwmcerrig partner Roland Watkins said: "We are taking this move in response to popular demand. "Customer have asked us to stay open longer and we are happy to oblige as we start the run-up to Christmas." Cwmcerrig ready for a Family Fun Day

There's a Family Fun Day planned for the Spring Bank Holiday Monday at Cwmcerrig Farmshop and Grill in Gorslas. The Fun Day is being organised to raise funds for the Wales Air Ambulance and the Gorslas Welfare Association. It takes place between 10am and 3pm on Monday, May 6. Radio Carmarthenshire and top DJ and presenter 'Tommo' will be broadcasting from the event. "It promises to be a great day out for all the family," said Cwmcerrig partner Roland Watkins. "There'll be a warm welcome for one and all. Our award-winning shop and grill will be open and there will be a host of events to enjoy." Double delight for Cwmcerrig in the Taste of Wales awards

Cwmcerrig Farmshop has won two prestigious Gold Taste of Wales awards. The awards are regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the food and drink industry in Wales. Cwmcerrig took the Gold award in two categories at a glittering awards night at the Royal Welsh showground on Thursday night. The shop won the ‘local sourcing’ section and the firm’s sirloin steak took Gold in the beef section.
