'Make the change' for Real Nappy Week

It's Real Nappy Week from April 18-24 and mums and dads in Carmarthenshire are being urged to make the change. Modern washable nappies are easy to use; better for the environment and can save you money. They are also fun, fashionable and come in a range of styles designs and colours, from denim, spots, to ruffles. The council’s waste and recycling section has teamed up with local real nappy stockist Nappy Go Lucky to raise awareness on the benefits of using real nappies and will be in Guildhall Square in Carmarthen on Saturday, April 23 between 10am and 3pm. Council waste minimisation/recycling officer Karen Fulham said: “More and more parents are discovering the benefits of real nappies. With today’s modern designs, washing machines and the use of flushable liners, using real nappies couldn’t be easier. “If you haven’t tried them yet, give them a go, you may just be surprised. ‘Bumps and Babes’ fashion show for Carmarthen

Toddlers from Carmarthenshire will be strutting their stuff on the catwalk to show off the latest real nappy designs. A ‘Bumps and Babes’ Fashion Show is being held in Debenhams in St Catherine’s Walk, Carmarthen, on Wednesday, October 10 at 11am. Local real nappy stockists Bum Deal and Nappy Go Lucky are organising the show with Debenhams, and with support from Carmarthenshire County Council’s waste section. The aim is to encourage mums and dads to ditch the disposables and realise the benefits of using cotton nappies. As well as the latest real nappy styles, Debenhams will also be showing their baby and maternity autumn/winter collections. Bump and baby photographer Jason Banbury will be at the event and a percentage of any takings will be donated to the NSPCC, one of Debenhams’ chosen charities. The council’s real nappy advisor Caroline Davies will also be on hand to offer information and advice and the chance for parents to sign up for a free real nappy trial pack. Ella P...
