The latest 'On Song' column (about the choral scene in and around Llanelli) from the Llanelli Star -  The choristers of Côr Meibion Llanelli (Llanelli Male Voice Choir) have a new accompanist. Aled Maddock lives in Cross Hands and is a native of the Neath Valley. He attended Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera before graduating in Music at The University of North Wales, Bangor. He is a former pupil of Madame Eileen Gethin–Jones and Czech pianist Jana Frenklova. He has worked as Musical Director of Craig y Nos Castle and with a number of choirs, including Neath and District Ladies Choir, Côr Meibion Onllwyn, Bryncoch Male Voice Choir, Tonna Male Voice Choir and his own mixed choir “CôrA1” in the Swansea Valley. He has conducted the popular S4C religious programme Dechrau Canu, Dechrau Canmol on several occasions. The choristers of Côr Meibion Llanelli (Llanelli Male Voice Choir) have a new accompanist. Aled Maddock lives in Cross Hands and is a native of the Neath Valley. He succeeds Rhiannon Williams-Hale. Cor Meibion Llanelli musical director Eifion Thomas said: "We are delighted to be welcoming Aled to the team. He is a very experienced musician with an extensive CV and we are sure he will fit in and help to take the choir forward in 2015." Cor Meibion Llanelli have recruited a new accompanist. Rhiannon Williams-Hale replaces Sarah Thomas, who has left to concentrate on her teaching duties in Carmarthen. Rhiannon Williams-Hale FLCM LLCM ALCM LRSM LTCL ATCL LGSMD was born in Cardiff in 1976. Rhiannon was educated at the Bishop of Llandaff High School, received piano tuition at the Royal Academy of Music, London (following two ABRSM scholarship prizes), and read Music at Cardiff University having been awarded the 'David Lloyd Vocal scholarship' on entrance. Brought up in Barry, Rhiannon’s career began as a Singer and in 1989 she achieved the prestigious titles of 'Welsh and National BET Choirgirl of the Year' - the final of which was held in London. A part time vocal scholar at the RWCMD, she became a member of the National Youth Choirs of Wales, Great Britain and the RSCM Cathedral Singers, also achieving her 'St Cecilia Senior award' and LTCL in Voice.
