Llanelli Rotary Club has awarded a prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship to Llanelli businesswomen Angela Saunders. Ms Saunders is the managing director of the Stradey Park Hotel and a director of Gryphon Leisure Ltd. She is a member of the organising committee of the Ray Gravell Memorial Trust and works tirelessly to help numerous charitable and community causes. Ms Saunders was recognised by Llanelli Rotary Club for her community work. The Paul Harris Fellowship is the highest award which can be bestowed by a Rotary Club. It was established by Rotary International in 1957 to recognise people who fulfil Rotary's motto of 'Service Above Self'. Ms Saunders was presented with her Paul Harris Fellowship gold pin by Llanelli Rotary Club President Graham Williams.

Llanelli rugby legend Derek Quinnell has been honoured with a Paul Harris Fellowship from Llanelli Rotary Club. The award is the highest honour which can be handed out by the Rotary movement. Mr Quinnell, pictured with his wife Madora, was presented with the award by the President of Llanelli Rotary Club Graham Williams. The presentation was made at the launch of a Paul Harris Society for the South Wales District 1150 area of Rotary. Mr Quinnell, who played for Llanelli Scarlets, Wales, The Barbarians and The British Lions, made his international debut against France. Could that be a lucky omen for Saturday's Grand Slam match?
