Winners at the Primary School Football Festival and Fete staged at Richmond Park, Carmarthen, were as follows - Boys Year 3 & 4 Winners Ysgol Y Dderwen; Runners-up Teirw Teilo. Boys Year 5 & 6 Winners Tre Uchaf, Gorseinon; Runners-up Bois Teilo, Teilo Sant. Girls Winners Swiss Valley; Runners-up Ysgol Y Dderwen. Roger Evans Memorial Trophy for the team which best represented the spirit of football in the tournament - Bois Teilo, Teilo Sant. Thanks to Mr. Phil Grice, Mayor of Carmarthen, for opening the tournament and for presenting the awards. Preparations are continuing for this year’s Junior Football Festival and Fete which takes place on Saturday 7th July at Richmond Park, home of Carmarthen Town AFC. Executive committee member Paul Ashley Jones has issued the following appeal - This is an important part of the Club’s Community Programme and as always your help is needed. Without the help of our supporters the event cannot take place. There are many ways, large and small, in which you can help. Specifically we need help in the following areas: Programme sales – we have a small number of supporters currently going door to door selling Programmes at £1 each. If you are able to spare a couple of hours to help out over the next two weeks then please call Paul Ashley-Jones on 07775 820864. The latest 'View from Richmond Park' Carmarthen Town AFC column from the Carmarthen Journal newspaper - The countdown is well and truly on to the annual Carmarthen Town AFC Fete, which will be held at Richmond Park on Saturday, July 7. The fete includes a football festival for primary school children from schools and clubs. Anyone wishes to enter a team should contact Emlyn Schiavone on 07917367793. The fete will be officially opened at 10.30am by Carmarthen Town Mayor Councillor Phil Grice. Funds raised through the fete and football festival will go towards the Carmarthen Town AFC community programme. The target is for the event to raise £3000. The club’s community programme sponsor is Neil Alexander and EMC Services. Carmarthen Town's fete programme sellers were out in force in Carmarthen today. They sellers were outside Carmarthen Market and in St Catherine's Walk. They were selling programmes for the annual Carmarthen Town AFC Fete and Primary School Football Festival which will be held at Richmond Park, Carmarthen, on Saturday, July 7. Carmarthen Town AFC Fete and Football Festival 2011 There was a bumper crowd at the annual Fete and Football tournament staged by Carmarthen Town AFC at Richmond Park on Saturday. The Mayor of Carmarthen, Councillor Tom Defis, officially opened the tournament and was on hand to present the trophies at the end of the event. Dewi Sant A won the Boys Years 5 and 6 category. Maesllyn won the Boys Years 3 and 4 competition. The Y Castell 2 team won the girls tournament. The event was sponsored by the St Catherine’s Walk shopping centre. Carmarthen Town AFC chairman Gareth Jones said he was delighted with the success of the event. “It was great to see so many youngsters enjoying their football at Richmond Park. We hope many will visit us again. Many thanks go to everyone who helped organise and contributed to a splendid day.”

The latest 'View from Richmond Park' Carmarthen Town AFC football club column from the Carmarthen Journal newspaper - Carmarthen Town AFC will be staging its 13th Fete and Primary School Football Tournament at the Richmond Park ground on Saturday, July 2. The fete and tournament is being sponsored by the St Catherine’s Walk shopping development, which recently celebrated its first year of business. Club executive committee chairman Gareth O Jones said: “In my opinion, the fete and football tournament is the most important date in Carmarthen Town’s calendar for the year. “It is also an important date in the sporting calendar for the primary schools of Carmarthenshire. “I would like to thank the teaching and support staff of all the schools for their assistance in helping the children compete.
