Aberystwyth Law professor nominated for re-election to European human rights body
Professor Ryszard Piotrowicz from Aberystwyth Law School has been nominated by the UK Government to serve a second term as a member of the Council of Europe’s anti-human trafficking body. GRETA, the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings, based in Strasbourg, was established by the Council of Europe to monitor European States’ laws and activities in the prevention of human trafficking and support and protect victims of trafficking. Professor Piotrowicz was first elected to GRETA in 2012 and has served a four-year term. During this time he has visited many European countries to assess their compliance with the law and make recommendations for practical actions and measures to help trafficked people.
