The latest 'On Song' column about the choral scene in and around Llanelli from the Llanelli Star - 
Côr Meibion Dyffryn Tywi (Vale of Towy Male Voice Choir) are gearing-up for their annual concert to be held on June 28 at the Princess Gwenllian Centre, Kidwelly, with guest artists soprano Catrin Aur and the Welsh Choir of the Year 2013 Cor Y Wiber.
Choir spokesman Derrick Rowlands said: “2013 was a very busy and successful year for the choir and 2014 is promising to be another memorable term for the choristers.

5th April, Princess Gwenllian Centre, Kidwelly.
19th April, Wedding, St Mary's Church, Kidwelly.
24th - 27th April, Isle Of Wight Tour.
12th July, Hillingdon, London.
4th August, Eisteddfod Sir Gar, Llanelli.
18th October, Lyric Theatre Carmarthen.

Popular Llanelli ladies choir Côr Curiad will be performing at a Gala Concert being organised by the Llanelli Masonic Festival Committee at Ffwrnes Theatre on Saturday, July 19.
The evening will be compered by the hilarious TV comedian Owen Money and will also feature the award winning Burry Port Town Brass Band and the renowned National Eisteddfod winning soloist tenor Richard Allen.
On the same night (July 19), over in Kidwelly, there will be a Trebor Edwards Gala Concert staged by Loud Applause Productions.
The concert is being held at the Princess Gwenllian Centre, Kidwelly, with Theatrau Sir Gar selling tickets on behalf of Loud Applause Productions.
Well known for his rendition of ‘Un Dydd ar y Tro’,Trebor Edwards is one of Wales’s famous lyrical tenors. Surprisingly, he has not performed in the area for a number of years.
Trebor will be joined by the Kidwelly Festival Choir under the baton of Andrew J. Pike and ladies choir Parti Llwchwr. The concert is in aid of Ty Cymorth Hospice at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen.
On Saturday, April 5, a ‘Night of the choirs’ is being staged at Princess Gwenllian Centre, Kidwelly.
The evening will feature Côr Cydweli, Côr Glannau’r Gwendraeth, Côr Meibion Dyffryn Tywi, and Côr Meibion Porth Tywyn. Rising singing star Samuel Morris is also on the bill. The compere will be Ioan Hefin and the evening is being organised by Mynyddygarreg and Kidwelly Appeals Committee for the Carmarthenshire National Eisteddfod.
On Saturday, April 26 (postponed from January 25), there will be a concert at Pontyberem Hall (7pm) in aid of the Sir Gar WI stand at the Carmarthenshire National Eisteddfod. Guest artists include Samuel Morris and pianist Sioned Evans. There will be items from WI members. The compere will be Heini Jones. Tickets are £6.
Opera Star Gary Griffiths will be performing at Llandybie Memorial Hall on Saturday (March 22), alongside Côr Merched Tybie, Côr Meibion Dyffryn Aman. Gary was the winner of the Welsh Singers competition in 2012 and represented Wales in the 2013 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition. The concert is in aid of Fight for Sight.
Côr Meibion Llanelli choristers are currently looking forward to performing at the Houses of Parliament in London on Tuesday, April 1.
The choir will be performing before a select audience of MPs, Members of the House of Lords and special VIP guests at the request of Llanelli MP Nia Griffith.
The choir has agreed to make a return visit to Hersham in Surrey on Saturday, July 12.
