Along with one to one support from Business Development Officers Lesley Lewis and Barry Hale, the project has a team of mentors from the various business sectors who will be on hand to share their vast knowledge, experience and specialist advice with young businesses.
Dewis Menter will also hold a number of business events and workshops throughout Rural Carmarthenshire which will help future entrepreneurs and existing businesses learn about a variety of business topics as well as providing excellent opportunities to network with other business people.
Dewis Menter are also working in partnership with the South Wales Chamber of Commerce to establish a ‘Junior Chamber’ which will provide a networking and discussion forum for young business people and budding entrepreneurs between the ages of 16 – 30.
Cllr Clive Scourfield said, “Carmarthenshire County Council recognise that it is essential to support small business located in the rural parts of the County in these challenging times, as their success is essential to the well being of the rural economy.”
The project is also in the process of recruiting business mentors who can pass on their knowledge and experience to newly created businesses in rural Carmarthenshire. Mentors will be financially remunerated for the time they spend to support the business beneficiaries on the scheme.
