Ainsley Hillard's Exhibition
‘Where Echo Talks’
- 11th to 23rd October 2014
Where Echo Talks by artist Ainsley Hillard at Aberglasney Gardens. Interested in bringing together the past and the present, her arts practice is site-referential, being informed by specific places and the memories they hold.
Over the past year, Ainsley has been collaborating with Musician and Sound Engineer Rhys James to create a site-referential audio-textile exhibition that will be installed in the interiors of Aberglasney House and the unique Cloister Gardens.
Researching the social-history of Aberglasney and the poetry of John Dyer, a former resident, has acted as a catalyst, inspiring her to develop and create a new body of woven textiles and motion activated audio installations.
These works will actively engage the audience within the space and artwork and enable the relationships between people, memory and space to become interwoven.
There will be an invitation only Private Viewing held in the Mansion on Sunday 12th October from 2-4pm. Opened by Prof. John Goodridge.
