The latest 'Shop Elli' column from the Llanelli Star

The latest 'Shop Elli' column from the Llanelli Star -

Shops in Llanelli are continuing to sign up for the ‘Steal And Be Banned’ SABB scheme.
SABB is a new initiative by the Dyfed-Powys police force and shops throughout Llanelli town centre are being encouraged to take part.
The chairman of the initiative is St Elli Shopping Centre manager Andrew Stephens.
Under the scheme, any person who steals from participating shops will be banned for an indefinite period from all shops in the area displaying the Steal And Be Banned logo.
Mr Stephens said: “We want to make it clear that crime will not be tolerated. Llanelli is a safe place to shop and we want to make sure that it stays that way. But we do, of course, want as many shops as possible to participate in the scheme to ensure that it is effective.”
Anyone interested in taking part can contact Mr Stephens at the shopping centre - 01554 746603 or email andrew@stelli.co.uk

Sophie Davies, 23, has been working at phones4u at the St Elli Shopping Centre for more than a year. Originally from Penyfan, she now lives in the Dafen area. Educated at Coedcae Comprehensive, Sophie went into retail after leaving school, but then spent two years working abroad as a holiday representative with Thomas Cook. When she returned to Wales, she worked for Premier Inn before starting with phones4u. The mobile phone shop is open seven days a week, including bank holidays. Sophie said: “I really enjoy working here. It’s great meeting new people every day. The ‘face to face’ with customers is great and it’s always good to help them with their problem-solving.

Offers
Greggs the bakers in the St Elli Shopping Centre have been running a number of promotions with the Llanelli Star. There have been ‘buy one get one free’ vouchers for a number of products. Assistant manager Cheryl Jenkins said: “The offers through the Llanelli Star have been a big hit with customers. Coming up, we have offers on cheese and onion melts and sausage and bean melts and special offers on pizzas.
“It’s an exciting time for us here at Greggs in Llanelli as we have been chosen as one of a select number of branches to promote the new range of products. This new range includes new-style pizzas, chocolate logs and a lovely new cake range. Plain pizzas are £1.20, a pepperoni is £1.30 and it is £1.50 for a spicy chicken.
“My advice is for Llanelli Star readers to keep a close eye on the paper for the latest offers in store.”
