All aboard as Stagecoach rolls into Haverfordwest

The hugely popular Stagecoach Theatre Arts group is arriving in Haverfordwest this month.
Stagecoach Carmarthen and Haverfordwest is part of the longest-running and most successful children’s performing arts schools network in the world.
Demand for places at the existing Carmarthen school has been so high that the group is now launching into Haverfordwest.
Principal Liane Davies said: “Stagecoach is more than just a stage school, theatre school or drama school. We are proud to offer a full and rounded education, teaching life skills to build confidence and stretch imaginations through singing, acting and dance classes.
“The success of our Carmarthen school has been pulling in students from Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire. It really is a case of responding to demand and we are delighted to be in a position this month to launch the group in Haverfordwest.”
On Thursday, April 18, from 4.30pm - 6.30pm there will be the chance for potential parents and students to come and ‘meet the team’ and learn more about Stagecoach at the class venue at Sir Thomas Picton School, Queensway, Haverfordwest, SA61 2NX.
The official term at the new Haverfordwest Stagecoach classes will start the following week at Sir Thomas Picton School on April 25.
Liane said: “We look forward to welcoming one and all to the ‘taster’ session on April 18. And we’d like to advise mums and dads to book early as places for the Stagecoach term in Haverfordwest are being taken up at a rate of knots.”
The ‘main school’ at Stagecoach in Haverfordwest will see children and teens aged 6-18 years, learn to sing, dance and act at weekends or evenings during term time.
For children already doing drama in school, Stagecoach complements the skills learned by improving diction, concentration and improvisation technique.
For those not already involved with drama in schools, the drama classes are perfect for building confidence, introducing role play techniques and memorising scripts.
Liane added: “If you are looking for dance classes, singing lessons or acting classes for young people, Stagecoach has it all and under one roof! All Stagecoach teachers are CRB checked and have access to on-going training
“All my staff are really excited about the expansion into Haverfordwest, especially as we already have pupils from the Pembrokeshire area which are among the most successful of our regular students in Carmarthen.
“The new Haverfordwest classes will be much more convenient for all our Pembrokeshire fans and we are looking forward to seeing Stagecoach roll into town!”

About Stagecoach Theatre Arts Carmarthen and Haverfordwest
Stagecoach Theatre Arts Carmarthen and Haverfordwest has its Carmarthen base at the Queen Elizabeth High School, Johnstown, Carmarthen. It is soon to open in Haverfordwest.
The school opened in May 2009 and became an instant success. The school now attracts students from the three counties of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.
In recent years, Stagecoach Theatre Arts Carmarthen has staged the musicals Billy Elliot, Oliver and Annie.
Liane added: “Our aim is always to nurture and develop four to 18-year-olds to fulfil their potential through dance, drama and singing.
“It’s not all about treading the boards on stage. Early stages classes focus on allowing the children to express themselves, while at the same time building up confidence, poise and self-esteem. Above all, we make sure the experience is fun! The children love it.”
