Easter products at Jenkins Bakery

The Jenkins Bakery has released details of its Easter range of products.
“There’s something for everyone to enjoy at Easter time,” said the Jenkins Bakery’s operations director Russell Jenkins.
“Our staff always enjoy producing new ideas for Easter and I’m sure our customers will enjoy sampling the products we have on offer.”
Easter Sunday falls on April 21 this year. The long bank holiday weekend begins on Good Friday, April 19, and Easter Monday on April 22 is the final day in the bank holiday festivities.
Mr Jenkins: “May I also take this opportunity to wish customers, staff and suppliers a very pleasant Easter holiday.”
The Easter range includes –
CHOCOLATE SPRING NEST £1.25
Moist chocolate Swiss Roll enrobed with chocolate and decorated with mini chocolate eggs in a nest of chocolate buttercream.
BUNNY KRISPIES £1.25
Our chocolate krispie confectionery with an edible sugar bunny and drizzled with white chocolate.
EASTER BUNNY BISCUIT £1.00
Our top quality shortbread biscuit cut out in the shape of an Easter Bunny and expertly hand-decorated.
EASTER BISCUITS £1.80
A rich fruit shortbread biscuit dusted with caster sugar and packed in a gift bag.
EASTER FRUIT CAKE SLICE £1.25
Our delicious rich fruit cake marzipan and ribbed rolled sugar paste a fruit cake lover’s delight!
EASTER CUP CAKE £1.20
Our top quality moist chocolate cupcake hand-decorated with a whirl of chocolate or lemon fudge icing and topped with Easter sugar sprinkles and Easter sugar plaque.
EASTER FRUIT CAKE £5.00
Our top quality fruit cake topped with golden marzipan and white sugar paste which is decorated with the inscription: Happy Easter/Pasg Hapus.

'Class of 1980' from Burry Port enjoy reunion

There was a big class reunion held in Burry Port at the weekend. Members of the Class of 1980 from Porth Tywyn (Burry Port junior) School got together at The Coasting Pilot pub. The reunion was organised by Christine Rees and same 22 members of the original class of 28 turn up to discuss their old schooldays. One ‘Class of 1980’ member was Burry Port businessman Owain Davies. He said: “We all have very happy memories of our time in school. We had a fantastic teacher in Mr Heddwyn Jones, who now lives in Four Roads. “We were very fortunate to have the same teacher for three years and we were a very happy class. Aberystwyth Vice-Chancellor welcomes Welsh learners

In her first public engagement as Vice-Chancellor of Aberystwyth, Professor April McMahon welcomed more than 70 learners of Welsh from all corners of the World to the University on the opening day of the Cwrs Haf Awst 2011. The course, which is aimed at beginners and more experienced learners, is organised by the Mid Wales Welsh for Adults Centre at Aberystwyth University. It runs from 1 to 26 August and this year welcomes learners from America, Brittany, Poland, Germany, Australia, Japan and England, as well as Wales. Professor McMahon, who has been learning Welsh since March of this year, addressed learners at a special reception at 6.30 on Monday evening 1 August at Tamed Da on the Penglais campus. The evening included entertainment by the folk group Cerddcegin. Cwrs Haf Awst offers a full programme of social activity to enable learners to use their Welsh and get a taste of life and culture in the Aberystwyth area.
