Côr Meibion Llanelli members are getting ready for a series of Christmas events.
On Saturday, December 13, the choir’s annual Christmas concert takes the form of a Gymanfa Ganu at Greenfield Chapel, Llanelli, starting at 7pm.
Côr Meibion Llanelli musical director Eifion Thomas said: “The Gymanfa Ganu tradition remains strong here in Llanelli and it seems appropriate at Christmas time that we should all be united in song and in rejoicing.
“The Gymanfa promises to be a celebration of the very best of community singing and we are looking forward to a full house at Greenfield Chapel so that everyone can get into the proper festive spirit.”
On Monday, December 15, the choir will be singing at the Christmas Raceday at Ffoslas racecourse in Carway.
On Wednesday, December 17, the choir’s annual charity concert takes place at The Thomas Arms, starting at 7pm.
The choir will also be busy recording a special Christmas broadcast for Radio BGM hospital radio at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.
There is a warm welcome for new members to attend the choir’s weekly rehearsal sessions at Furnace Community Hall at 7pm on Mondays and Thursdays.”
The Hywel Choir’s big Christmas show, The Christmas Fantasia will take place at Y Ffwrnes on 6th December which will see 250 musicians and singers unite from the British Sinfonietta Orchestra, Hywel Choir, Llanelli Choral Society, Morriston RFC Male Choir, Adele O’Neill, Huw Tregelles Williams – all under the baton of John Hywel Williams.
Millions will be able to enjoy the John Hywel Williams and his Hywel Choir over the Christmas season with an appearance on BBC Breakfast News on Christmas Eve and an appearance on Christmas Day on Channel 4.
Burry Port Male Voice Choir will hold their annual Christmas dinner at the Cornish Arms in Burry Port at 6pm on Friday December 5.
The choir will be performing at Moriah Chapel, Llanelli, on Sunday December 7 at 7pm
Choir members will also be taking part in a Community Carol Concert at the Memorial Hall, Burry Port on Friday, December 12.

Saturday, December 13, annual dinner at the Red Lion, Llandyfaelog.
Tuesday, December 16, concert at Towy Castle Care Home.
Thursday, December 18, concert at Glanmorfa Care Home, Kidwelly.
Tuesday, December 23, Carol Singing at the Red Lion in Llandyfaelog.
The ladies of Côr Curiad are getting very excited about their special anniversary concert with Paul Potts next April.
The concert also features Eisteddfod winning Burry Port Town Band and will be hosted by Swansea Sound Radio Presenter Kevin Johns MBE.
