New Public Health Director for Hywel Dda Health Board
Hywel Dda Health Board welcomes Teresa Owen as the Director of Public Health, who took up the role earlier this month.
Teresa will provide public health leadership across the Hywel Dda Health Board area with a particular focus on tackling health inequalities.
She said: “I'm excited about coming back to Wales to work. I look forward to helping the Board focus on improving the health and wellbeing outcomes for the people living in the Hywel Dda Health Board area.”
Teresa blends experience from both Welsh and English health services, having undertaken her Public Health training in North Wales before working as a Consultant in Public Health in England.
Teresa formerly worked as Deputy Director for Public Health with NHS Wirral and worked across all the domains of public health.
Prior to re-training in Public Health, Teresa was a Professional Adviser for Health Professions Wales and, before that, was a Chief Dietitian with Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust.
She is a fluent Welsh speaker, Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health, and a proud Churchill Fellow.
